SPC Impact is an event organized by the Sustainable Packaging Coalition (SPC), this year the conference was held in New Orleans from April 2nd to the 4th. It gathers a diverse community of professionals, experts, and leaders in the industry committed to find innovative solutions. The event included conversations regarding carbon footprints, panels about hope and effective communication, among other topics.
Some of the most notable sessions was from our ally, Trayak, who introduced the new module of their Compass software. Today we use this software to do Life Cycle Analysis that allows us to explore sustainable indicators to make informed and strategic decisions.
Besides these technical and academic sessions, SPC Impact granted great opportunities for networking and collaboration. We found ourselves with a diverse set of professionals, sharing ideas, opinions, and perspectives regarding where the plastics and packaging industry is headed.
These connections will be essential for our participation in SPC’s Collaboratives, where we will continue exploring emerging trends, state legislation, and new key opportunities like flexible, compostable, and reusable packaging, as well as ecodesign.
One highlight for us was the talk on effective communication when it comes to plastics. This talk was given by an expert in human behavior and communication. Her focus on tone, positive messaging, captured the audience’s attention and resonated with our commitment to promote communications that are impactful and incentivise positive action.
We feel inspired by the innovations presented, the connections that were established and strengthened, and motivated to continue on our journey towards sustainability and advance excellence in our industry.
