Our plastics innovations are presented at ColombiaPlast 2024

ColombiaPlast 2024 was an excellent opportunity to present our circular plastics innovations. We had two stands where we exhibited our products from Plastilene, Altalene, and Reciclene, that contain post consumer recycled content.
Alongside this, we have been able to share our knowledge and experience regarding circular economy practices through our panels alongside some of our partners.

Innovative Presentations in the Go Plastic Zone

This year we decided to be part of the Go Plastic Zone at the fair, a space dedicated to promote entrepreneurship and companies centered on the plastic circular economy. At this space we were allowed to showcase our most recent sustainable breakthroughs, characteristics, uses, and benefits.
Reciclene presented their 100% internal PCR Ciclolene® resins, certified by the ICIPC, and the ICONTEC.
With Reciclene, our visitors learned the ins and outs of the transformation process of waste into high quality resins. Starting with the capture of waste through recyclers associations all the way to transformation and commercialization of resins, the stand showcased the entire recycling cycle and the sustainable production of our recycling plant.

The space designated to Plastilene and Altalene offered an insider perspective into our sustainable product portfolio, made with certified recycled plastics. Our visitors were able to learn about our products like beverage shrinkwraps, bags, and secondary packaging for different markets. Amongst other things it’s important to highlight their PCR percentage and their alignment with circular economy principles.

Our informational talks and strategic partnerships

At ColombiaPlast we participated in three panels:
Positive impacts of using PCR in plastic bags and flexible packaging (Altalene): we talked in depth about the way our plastic bags made of 100% recycled plastic contribute to sustainability and the Colombian legislation that prohibits single use plastic (Law 2232)

We also presented a Life Cycle Analysis that compared these plastic bags with PCR to paper bags, which showed ours had a lower environmental impact.
Ciclolene® resins with 100% PCR: uses and applications in the industry (Reciclene): we went over the benefits of Ciclolene® resins and emphasized the versatility and efficiency of the production of different industrial products.

Achievements of plastics in the circular economy in the beverage industry (Plastilene): Coca-Cola and Postobón shared their experience and their challenges when incorporating recycled plastics into their processes. This talk highlighted the partnership and technical solutions that allowed for the success of the use of PCR in beverage shrinkwraps.

Our visitors saw how the resins and packaging presented could be successful solutions and maintain quality in different industries.
This conference showcased that the future of plastics hinges on innovation, strategic partnerships, efficient resource use, and sustainability as a shared goal in the industry.
