The blueberry industry has been growing exponentially in Colombia. With around 650 hectares currently devoted to this crop, and projected to grow to 5,000 in 2026, according to the Rural Agricultural Planning Unit (UPRA). This sector is one of the most promising in the country. Events such as Nación Berries are key to share knowledge, network, and open new opportunities.
On April 8th and 9th at the Chamber of Commerce in Bogotá, this event brought together more than 800 people from Latinamerica and Spain with a shared passion for blueberries.
Thirst for Knowledge
One of the most important aspects was everyone’s genuine interest in learning. Producers, researchers, technical teams, and students came up to our stand trying to find concrete solutions to improve their crop’s performance. That’s where we shared information about our greenhouse plastic film with low UV light blocking. This film facilitates pollination, and enhances the growth of blueberries.
Attendees did not only see the quality of our products, but also saw the technical consulting that we do before and after sales. These conversations allowed us to not only understand the real needs of the industry, but confirm that we’re headed in the right direction.
Relationships that open doors
The event also gave us a platform to create alliances. We met independent producers, agricultural companies, and associations within the blueberry industry. These relationships opened new doors to support the development of an industry that has just started demonstrating its full potential.
We are convinced that this collaboration and the exchange of knowledge can lead to a more technical and sustainable agricultural industry. We are happy to know that we are creating relationships with as much potential as the crops that we support.
